Mile Marker 24
  The Mile Marker 24 Band

HowardHoward Livingston

Instruments: Vocals, Acoustic Guitar, and Baritone Guitar

Howard is a native of the mountains of eastern Kentucky. His mother spawned his love for music by introducing him to the guitar at age five. While the love of music never did leave him, his career pushed him in a different direction. While building his business, he traveled to the Florida Keys, where he developed a severe case of “Keys Fever” He never wanted to leave. The more he visited, the more music, and the keys called out to him. Finally, he surrendered. The islands called both he and his guitar. He teamed upo with this group of talented musicians and Mile Marker 24 was born and the island music goes on and on.

Dave HerzogDave Herzog

Instruments: Percussion, Steel Drums, Vocals

After saying goodbye to the cold winters of Minnesota, my wife, Barb, and I bought a sailboat and cruised the coasts of Florida. I played steel drums in many of the tiki bars along the way, 'til we reached the end of the road in Key West. We thought we'd stay for a few months and that was nearly eight years ago!

During those eight years I headed north during the summers to the Lakes Area of Minnesota where I played steel drums with the band "Island Time". That all changed when I first heard "Howard Livingston & the Mile Marker 24 band" in the Florida Keys. I realized that playing and touring with Mile Marker 24 would be a dream come true.

Now, as a member of the "Mile Marker 24 Band", I'm looking forward to playing the best venues in the Florida Keys and hitting some of the hot spots in our northern summer tours! Hope to catch you along the way!!

Dave HerzogBilly (Sharky) Thomas

Instruments: Lead Guitar, Vocals

Billy (Sharky) Thomas started his musical career in Indianapolis in the 80's playing and recording with midwest favorites "Empire" and "The Light Band". After moving south to Tampa, Billy has played with quite an eclectic bunch including The Outlaws, Molly Hatchet, Bowser and the Stingrays, Fabian, Bo Didley, Martha and The Vandellas, Jerry Lee Lewis, Jimmy Buffett and over thirty other national recording groups. Last year as part of the Hard Rock Casino's specialty house band "Southern Crossroads", Billy performed with Steven Tyler from Aerosmith as over a million dollars was raised for Toys for Tots in south Florida. Billy also helped raise over a million dollars with Nascar superstar Kyle Petty for Kyle's children home. Billy is now living and playing in Key West and has just released his first instructional book "Solo Performing for Fun and Extra Bucks".

JasonRick Cleaver

Instruments: Bass Guitar, Vocals

Rick experienced the awesome power of music at age 14 while listening to Peter Frampton enthrall 100,000 fans at Philly's JFK Stadium. When the concert ended, he jumped on his motocross motorcycle, flew home, and immediately put the bike up for sale to buy a bass guitar and amp. Years of lessons and practice on both bass and saxophone soon followed. This opened the door for countless years of seasoned professional performance and studio experiences with various Philadelphia area rock bands. Tired of leading an unbalanced hectic lifestyle in the northeast, Rick set out to find True Paradise. He found it in the environmentally conscious Florida Keys and in musical projects like the Inner Revolution, Infinite Tolerance, Injade and Milemarker 24.

Leigh MaplesLeigh Maples

Instruments: Bass

Now living in Nashville, TN, Leigh's playing began on the World's Most Beautiful Beaches in her hometown, Panama City Fl. After 2 years attending Gulf Coast Community College as a music major, Leigh moved to Nashville where she attended Belmont College as a Music Business Major. Leigh has toured and recorded with many but counts Dianne Davidson and Charles Neville as 2 of her favorites. It was while working with these artists she played the great jazz festivals and memorable places from Carnegie Hall in New York to The Old Filmore in San Francisco. While these were wonderful experiences....... it's hard to beat flip flops, sand between your toes, and some of the nicest, laid back people you've ever met......Howard and Mile Marker 24!

Leigh MaplesJimmy Handley

Instruments: Drums

A native of the small town of Killingworth, Ct, Jimmy found music at an early age. Moving to Nashville in 1995 moved him in to high gear! Touring has taken Jimmy around the world a few times, travelling with the likes of Journey, Peter Frampton, John Fogerty and Shakira. Jimmy has also been the opening act for Def Leppard, Pearl Jam, and U2 on the Vertigo tour.

These days he gets to spend his time "livin' on an island" with Mile Marker 24.

BobbieBobbie

My name is Bobbie and I am a ten year old Umbrella Cockatoo. I' m also Howard Livingston & MM24's 'MASCOT'.  I'm always there when Howard plays in the Keys and he always introduces me to the crowd (when the owners of the places he plays will let me in). Dancing and singing for Howie is one of my favorite things to do. I love to go see Howard and get so excited!!!!  He's the BEST!!!! So are all the band members.

When he's gone, it's really hard for me cause I miss him!! If he would adopt me, I would travel with him... it would be SO MUCH FUN!!!! I'm always good besides, if I'm not I can always 'Blame it on the  Margaritas' :) :)
